Festival of Love 'Family Tree' / Photo: Southbank Centre, London

Fotosynthesis are delighted to be part of the ‘Festival of Love’ Southbank Centre London. In July we set up a photo booth in the Royal Festival Hall and created a photographic ‘Family Tree’ of over 100 portraits of families from around the world, visiting the ‘Storge’ weekend, exploring family love.

We will return in August for the ‘Pragma’ weekend and run a pinhole workshop. In addition the Southbank Centre will exhibit of our new project with young carers in North London.

Pinhole Camera Workshop
2 August 2014, 11am – 4pm
Spirit Level, Royal Festival Hall

In a world where instant gratification is deemed the norm and taking a constant stream of images with phones and tablets is taken for granted, sign up to a pinhole camera workshop where you will spend time making your own camera, take a specially chosen photograph and develop it yourself on site in our dedicated Pragma dark room. Working with us, learn about exposure time and darkroom skills, while reflecting on the patience, care and transferable skills required to make an enduring relationship work – as well as being prepared to accept the unexpected.
No previous experience or knowledge of pinhole photography is required to take part in the workshop however this event requires a ticket. Please book your free ticket online, by phone or in person at the Royal Festival Hall.
