Fotosynthesis welcomes documentary photographer, photojournalist and web reporter Julio Etchart, who will present and discuss his practice, environmental reportage and audio-visual projects.

Julio Etchart grew up in Uruguay and settled in the UK where he studied documentary photography at the University of Wales Newport. Etchart has worked as a photographer, consultant and researcher for international media, film/TV companies, charities and NGO's.
In 1992 World Press Photo awarded him 1st prize in the Environmental category and he produced 'The Four Elements', a touring exhibition on ecological issues, sponsored by the European Union. Etchart produces audio-visual material and touring displays for NGO's, charities, cultural and political institutions including War on Want, UNICEF, Save The Children, OXFAM, Christian Aid, CAFOD, VSO, the British Council and the European Union.

He is a co-founder of Reportage Photos and Panos Pictures distribute his photographs and stories in the United Kingdom.
