The Children’s Society: Intergenerational Community Cohesion Project

The CHildren's Society

Fotosynthesis / The Children’s Society, 2013

The Children’s Society’s intergenerational community cohesion project has made a positive impact on 730 young and older people living in the London Borough of Greenwich since 2010. Fotosynthesis has had a three-year partnership with the Children's Society to deliver photography workshops using alternative photographic and studio processes. We were commissioned to take professional studio portraits using analogue and digital photography of all participants in the project. The curated exhibition takes place in June and Fotosynthesis will design and publish a book to celebrate the three-year partnership. The intergenerational celebration event on June 25th will be led by younger and older people from the project, and will showcase the difference it has made through various activities, performances, film and dance.
